Hi, my name is Susie Barbieri, a citizen of the world. I originally come from the Philippines, married to a guy from France and lived there for many years and my three children were born there. Also lived in Egypt for four years and then currently live in Seoul, South Korea for the past two and a half years. I work part time at the French Interntional School here in Seoul. I love sports especially tennis. I play regularly with a bunch of Koreans and I really enjoy it. I love biking during summer in the south France. My husband loves sailing and I accompany him all the time during summer. We sail in the Arcachon Bay and it`s a lot of fun. I know how to ski too. Though I am not that enthusiastic anymore. I need to have a good snow and nice slopes in order to enjoy it. So far, the ones in the Alps are still the best. I am a bit picky. We have got ski resorts here close to Seoul but I prefer in France. I used to do a lot of running but I stopped as I douldn`t find someone to run with me and besides, I couldn`t find an ideal place to run here in Seoul. Along the Han river ccould be the best place but seeing those cars and buses along the road does not really motivate me to do so. It`s so noisy and not to mention also the pollution. Our two elder daughters are in France studying while the youngest is still with us attending middle school. Expats` life can be very challenging but I always look at the advantages. We get to meet all kinds of people. We learn so many things about our host country`s culture. And we also have the opportunity to travel and explore the other parts of the world. I love the "internet". It has provided me so many advantages that I think, I couldn`t live without it. I was able to get reconnected to a lot of people that I haven`t seen nor heard for ages. I was able to make online friends and how they have helped me in so many ways knowing that I haven`t even met them personally. Taking away the pc is just like cutting a part of my body. That`s all for now and more info will follow. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
